Our Education Program
DIPP’s Education Program is designed to give students from all backgrounds a foundation in investing, finance, and professional development. No prior finance experience is required.
What You’ll Learn
All new members will have completed a 9-week education program taught by experienced upperclassmen. The curriculum builds a foundation in finance and investing while preparing members to participate in DIPP’s investing activities and stock pitches.
Topics typically include:
Finance & Investing Fundamentals - Core concepts in financial markets and investment analysis
Company & Industry Analysis - Business models, competitive positioning, industry dynamics, and company research
Financial Statements - Understanding the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
Valuation - Financial ratios, trading multiples, and discounted cash flow analysis
Stock Pitching - Developing investment theses and presenting company research and analysis
Mentorship & Professional Development
Education at DIPP extends beyond the formal curriculum. Investment Committee members mentor newer members, offering guidance as they explore opportunities in finance and investing, develop professional skills, and navigate early career decisions.
Mentorship is designed to give members access to the perspectives and experiences of upperclassmen who have gone through similar academic and professional processes themselves.
