We hosted the final round of our 2024 Stock Pitch Competition on Saturday, January 27. Recordings of the Freshman Showcase and Final Round can be found here.

We had over 800 participants from 90 universities around the world this year, competing for a share of $6,500 in prizes. A huge congratulations to all our participants - we hope to see you back in 2025!


General Information

    • All events will be hosted virtually on Zoom.

    • Teams must be composed of 3-4 undergraduates. Team members can be from different colleges.

    • Teams must pitch a long position on a > $1 billion market cap stock traded on the NASDAQ or NYSE.

    • Decks must be limited to 15 slides maximum with an accompanying financial model.

    • Registration closes January 5, 2024.

  • Please email (max) 15-slide presentations in PDF format and financial models in Excel format to dartmouthstockpitch@gmail.com.

    The email subject should read “Submission - [Last Name 1],[Last Name 2],[Last Name 3],[Last Name 4] - [Company Ticker]”.

    Please include the company ticker in the PDF and Excel file names.

    Submissions after 11:59 PM ET on January 13, 2024 will not be accepted.

  • Dartmouth College is requiring that all presentation materials and recommendations be based only on information that is available publicly. Any submissions containing Material Nonpublic Information (MNPI) will be automatically disqualified.


Virtual Schedule

  • Participants email their 15-slide deck and accompanying model to DIPP at dartmouthstockpitch@gmail.com by 11:59 PM ET on January 13, 2024.

    The DIPP Investment Committee reviews submissions and decides on the top 16 teams invited to Round 2.

    Round 2 participants are notified and given time to modify their submission.

  • 16 teams will present virtually to investment professionals from sponsor firms on January 21, 2024 from 1-3 PM ET. Updated decks and models must be submitted to dartmouthstockpitch@gmail.com by 11:59 PM ET on January 19, 2024.

    4 teams will advance to the final round based on presentation, investment rationale, and financial analysis.

    Top majority-freshman teams that did not make the final will be invited to the Freshman Showcase Round.

  • The 4 finalist teams will present at a virtual event open to the public on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2-4 PM ET. A panel of senior investors from sponsor firms will judge the teams, who each have 15 minutes to present and 10 minutes for questions.

    The opening ceremony at 1 PM ET will introduce sponsors and our keynote speaker. After the keynote speech, the finalists are announced to the public.

  • The Freshman Showcase Round is open to teams with 2 or more freshmen. It will run concurrently with the final round on January 27, 2024. The Freshman Showcase Round will be judged by sponsors with a demonstrated interest in attracting freshman and sophomore talent.

  • Sponsors have agreed to host coffee chats during and after the competition where participants can speak one-on-one with investment professionals. Finalists are guaranteed this opportunity, and other competitors will be selected if space is available.


Prizes

  • A total of $6,500 in cash prizes has been generously provided by our sponsors. Prizes will be distributed to participants that advance to the final round or the freshman showcase.

  • Members of the 4 finalist teams will earn a complimentary one-year subscription to Morningstar Investor, a web-based platform providing access to Morningstar’s proprietary investment research and portfolio management tools.

  • No. All events will be hosted virtually over Zoom.

  • In advance of internship and full-time recruiting in 2024, our sponsors would like to identify talented students across various campuses. Your resume will not be considered as part of the competition judging process.

  • We are looking for a mix of qualitative understanding and quantitative reasoning, including but not limited to an understanding of the company, industry dynamics, and risks.

  • Initial submissions will be judged by a panel of DIPP Investment Committee members. Semifinalists will be judged by investment professionals at sponsor firms. Both the freshman showcase and final round will be judged by a panel of senior investors from sponsor firms.

  • Appendix slides are allowed but are not guaranteed to be evaluated during the competition.

  • Title slides and brief conclusion slides are not included in the 15-slide limit. Neither are appendix slides, but please keep these reasonable.
